Back at our most stunning beach.

Early morning on arrival I took a couple of pictures vendors though it was a little cloudy

Looking up to the heads, early morning

Later in the day when  all the people were there.

The heads, later in the day.

Another great day in winter

Another nice morning in winter, the air is so clear, especially around sunrise.

After sunrise, but the clouds parted to show a delightful glow for just a few minutes.

And 10 minutes later the sun still glowing through the gap in the clouds.

A stunning morning , just after the shortest day.

It's amazing, winter has arrived, but at its very best. It is so cold down south, there have been some very low Temps,  Antarctic type temps -20 degrees c, in pukaki,  -9 in  Tekapo,  we had 2 degrees c, very cold for here. Still with it comes stunning views as the air is far clearer.
 Sunrise minus 10 mins
 Sunrise minus 8 minutes
 Sunrise minus 6 minutes
 Sunrise minus 4 minutes
 Just starting
 A bit more...

 And still more
 Minus 2 minutes
 Minus 1 minute
 Almost there

Finally fully up, just after the shortest day, well North of Rangi.
We are lucky to have such stunning sunrises.

A Long weekend on the harbour

The last weekend of autumn turned out to bea bit blustery,  and safely made it up thereafter working Friday night, at around 0130 hrs. The bridge over the upper harbour looked quite ethereal in the middle of the night.

The bridge over the harbour by night.
